Pre-Intermediate Australian English Language course (PIAELC)
The Pre-Intermediate Australian English Language Course (PIAELC) is a 12-week course that aims to assist learners with an entry-level of ADFELPS 4 to develop all four language macro-skills:
- Speaking
- Reading
- Listening
- Writing
Course aim
The course aims to raise awareness of strategies and build competencies that will result in an exit score of ADFELPS level 5.
This course is expected to provide a pathway for many learners to progress on to the Intermediate Australian English Language Course (IAELC).
The course also focuses on foundation-level academic skills and will include excursions and whole-class activities that further activate the language learned.

Assessments and Guidance Officer (GO) sessions are also included, along with organised sport every Thursday and field trips to explore Melbourne.
